Mara Train Station is available during the high season for weekly rental and for minimum 3-night stays during the rest of the year. The Train Station was recently refurbished and converted to modern, self-contained accommodation for 2 to 4 guests.

The Train Station, with great views to the Shuswap River, offers a large, full kitchen/eating area, a living room, a bathroom with shower, a deck for relaxing, and a dock ideally suited for canoes and kayaks.

Mara Train Station was moved in the 1970’s from its original location beside the disused Okanagan and Shuswap Railway. The station now occupies a vantage spot facing the Shuswap River. Where passengers once awaited trains on the platform, the deck now provides views of the river, valley and mountains.

Train Station Location

Mara Station is within easy driving distance of shops and restaurants in Salmon Arm (25 mins), Sicamous (20 mins) and Enderby (15 mins). A superb sandy beach with swimming area is 5 minutes to the north at Mara Provincial Park.

For train buffs and historians, the Mara Train Station is just over 1 hour from Revelstoke for the Revelstoke Railway Museum, 45 minutes from Three Valley Gap for the Railway Roundhouse, and 1.5 hours from Kamloops for the Kamloops Heritage Railway.

The Okanagan and Shuswap Railway was active with freight service once or twice a week until 2009. Our guests can enjoy an exceptionally peaceful riverside setting surrounded by hints of the railway's importance for the village during almost 12 decades.

High Season $1120.00/week (self-catering only) *max 4 adults.  Special rates are available for low season bookings. No applicable taxes.
